I ran out of my carpet cleaner that is not cheap and I really needed to shampoo my carpet. So I found this recipe for homemade carpet cleaner from moneysavingmadness.com. It seemed simple enough and I have to say it was so easy to make and it worked great. My carpet is clean and smells great. I was worried about the smell because it has such little soap in it but a little bit of soap goes a long way.
Here is the recipe:
Hot Water (approx. 1 gallon of water) I just filled up my tank on my machine almost full
1 Tablespoon Dish Soap ( I used Palmolive)
1 1/2 Tablespoons White Vinegar
1/4 Cup 3% Peroxide
I filled up my tank with the hot water, then added the other ingredients and I was set to vacuum. I saved money and it worked GREAT!!!!
